Memory Palace is a clothing and lifestyle brand, a curator of selected vintage and other objects, and a place to come when you want to roll up your sleeves and start a messy new project, run out the door to an art class, or throw things in a bag and take off on a last minute weekend trip to Lisbon. Or Addis Ababa. Or Naoshima Island.
We make clothes and objects we love, we don't take ourselves too seriously, and we know life is too short not to wear colors. We're not precious about our outfits but we love beautiful, cool, interesting, thoughtful things, and we care deeply about being the most confident, brilliant versions of ourselves every. single. damn. day. Otherwise what's the point?
Meet Marika
Marika Shioiri-Clark is a Japanese-American designer who studied film theory, trained as an architect, and has spent over a decade in the world of social impact design.
She has lived and worked in Paris, Kigali, and Mumbai, and has always found inspiration in the weaving of memories through place and culture. Growing up and traveling between Berkeley, California and Osaka, Japan, she found belonging through music and dance, freedom through skateboarding, and confidence through self-expression, experimenting with sewing and modifying thrift store clothes into new creations.
Memory Palace is a love letter to creative craft, to the memories that form our identities, and to the pursuit of self-confidence through free self-expression.
